Halloween Reading...

Michael will be taking part in a Halloween event to launch the latest volume of Stephen Jones' seminal BEST NEW HORROR series, at Waterstones in Gower Street (London). The event starts at 6:30 and will feature readings from Christopher Fowler, Mark Samuels and Michael, followed by a Q&A.

Guildford Literary Festival

Michael will be appearing at a event titled Adapting for Screen at this year's Guildford Literary Festival, on Tuesday October 16th. The event will be chaired by Paul Blezzard of Oneword Radio, and other participants include Jed Mercurio and Ben Richardson

INTRUDERS nominated for CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award

We're delighted to say that it was announced today that THE INTRUDERS is one of the seven nominees for the Crime Writers' Association's prestigious IAN FLEMING STEEL DAGGER Award, the UK's premier award for crime thriller fiction.

The award will be announced at a black tie dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel on Park Lane on Thursday, July 5th 2007. The other nominees are Alex Berenson, Harlen Coben, R. J. Ellory, Gillian Flynn, Michael Robotham, and Karin Slaughter.

German readers and completists may like to know that THE LONELY DEAD has just been published in German. To keep collectors on their toes, and following a tradition started when they published THE STRAW MEN in the UK's THE LONELY DEAD'S cover, THE LONELY DEAD has come with in a variation on THE STRAW MEN's cover, but in the colour that BLOOD OF ANGELS appeared in.

THE SERVANTS available for pre-order

We're delighted to announce that the first Michael Marshall Smith work of length since ONE OF US (nearly ten years!) is now available for pre-order from Earthling Publications.

A 50,000 word modern fantasy short novel, the book is illustrated by Alex McVey, with an afterword still to be confirmed. It is available in three states: a
trade hardcover, 175 numbered and signed hardcovers, and a deluxe tray-cased lettered edition signed by all contributors.

You might want to hurry, as Earthling's Paul Miller reports that the last two states are selling out fast...

UPDATE on 08-03-07: Paul now reports that the Numbered state has sold out, and only a handful of Lettereds are left...

"How Novel" is a series of literature events in conjunction with Derby City Council’s Literature Development and the Assembly Rooms.

Michael will be reading from his work and taking questions on the night. He will be supported by Hazard Warning, who are three local crime writers, Rod Duncan, Clare Littleford and Sally Spedding.

Stage production of BEING RIGHT...

The first ever stage production of one of Michael's stories is coming soon to a theatre in Taunton...

Adapted by David Kedward and Steven Cooper, BEING RIGHT will be at The Brewhouse Theatre on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th March, at 8:00.
